Junior Group I (10 & Under)

These swimmers may have some competitive swimming background experience, but need more work on their stroke technique. These swimmers are recommended to swim 3-5 times per week. The primary focus of this group is to improve the swimmers stroke skills and technique. Development of enthusiasm for the sport is also an important focus. The swimmers attend and compete in the “B-C” level meets.

Swimmers of the Junior Group I are expected to:
  • Arrive prepared and on time to practice and meets (suit, cap and goggles).
  • Focus and attempt any given drill or task with out disrupting other swimmers.
  • Listen to instructions and translate what coaches are asking to correct body movements.
  • Know all four stokes and are able to do 50 yards legally in practice and at meets.
  • Consistently utilize streamlines off walls, front flip turns, and side breathing.
  • Participate in swim meets and excited about learning more and challenging themselves.
  • Physically and mentally mature enough to handle a more strenuous work out than Age Group 1 & 2.



Age Group I & II (Beginner and Intermediate)

These swimmers may have little to no previous competitive swimming experience, but are enthusiastic and eager to learn. These swimmers are recommended to swim 3 times per week. The focus of Age Group I & II is to learn and be able to swim all four competitive strokes (Butterfly, Back, Breast, & Free) correctly. Games and drills are frequently used to keep learning fun and exciting. Swimmers attendance to either Novice Fun Meets or “C” level meets are recommended to help skill development.

Swimmers in Age Groups I and II are expected to:
  • Be prepared and on time to practice (suit, cap, and goggles).
  • Be focused and attempt any given drill or task with out disrupting other swimmers.
  • Listen to instructions and translate what coaches ask into correct body movements.
  • Be physically and mentally mature enough to handle a 1 hour practice.
  • Perform streamlines, turns, and side breathing as often as possible



Junior Group II (12 & Under)

This group designed to meet the needs of those swimmers who desire to achieve a high level in swimming. Swimmers in this group are competent in all four strokes and may have extensive competitive swimming experience. Swimmers in this group are strongly recommended to swim 4-6 times per week. The primary the focus of this group is to prepare athletes mentally and physical for senior groups. Focusing on development stroke techniques and proper training swimmers in this group strive to achieve A and AA National times in their age group. The swimmers attend and compete in the “A, B and C” level meets.

Swimmers of the Junior Group II are expected to:
  • Arrive prepared and on time to practice and meets. Suits, cap, goggles, Water bottles and fins. Not take excess bathroom breaks/when given breaks return as soon as possible.
  • Physically and mentally mature to handle strenuous work outs.
  • Focus thought out the entire practice and must work toward challenged themselves in each set given.
  • Listen to instruction and attempts any given drill or task with out disrupting other swimmers
  • Participate in at least one swim meets per month
  • Set short term and long term goals and work to achieved them.



Senior Development (13 & Over)

These swimmers may have competitive swimming background exercise, but needs more work on their strokes and ability to workout. These swimmers are strongly recommended to work out 5 days a week. The Primary focus of this group is to improve the swimmers stroke skills, Technique and speed. Development of competitive attitude for the sport is also an important focus. These swimmers attend all levels of competition according to each ones level of speed or ability.
Swimmers are required at the age of 13, with some exceptions, to complete the following standards.

Seniors (13 & Over)

These swimmers are required to have sufficient swimming and competitive experience. These swimmers are strongly recommended to attend all 8 workouts a week. The primary focus of this group is to become a complete all around, competetive athlete and achieve every goal intended. Senior swimmers are required to attend all competitions on schedule programmed by the coach.

  • Participate in a cross training program, set up by coach.
  • Participate in at least one swim meet per month
  • Set short term and long term goals and work to achieve them.
